Buying a van is an important decision – whether you use it for deliveries, passenger transportation or construction. Here’s what you should check before you sign the contract.

General technical status

Request a complete check of the engine, gearbox and braking system. Test the car and look out for unusual noises or leaks.

Mileage and service history

Low mileage on an old car could raise questions. It’s important to make sure the readings are real and have not been tampered with. Therefore, always ask for the service documents, book it in for a service check and make sure that regular servicing has been done.

What to watch out for:

  • Service book completed correctly
  • Invoices or receipts from previous overhauls
  • Correlation between mileage, year of manufacture and general condition of the vehicle

A van with a clear and complete history gives you more confidence and safety in use, especially if you’re going to use it every day in your business.

Thorough technical check

Each car is inspected by a specialized technician who checks the condition of the engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and electrical components. They look for any wear or damage that could affect the safety or performance of the vehicle.

What we’re actually checking:

  • Engine (compression, leaks, cold and warm running)
  • Clutch and gearbox (manual or automatic)
  • Brakes and ABS
  • Suspension and steering
  • Electrical installation and on-board systems
  • Transparent history and verified mileage

Every vehicle in the Levis Automobile fleet is fully documented. We check service history, actual mileage and, where possible, whether the vehicle has been involved in any accidents. This step is essential to eliminate unpleasant surprises. Some of the documents we’ve mentioned above, but we’re repeating them here to make sure you don’t miss anything

Checking the van: Documents analyzed

  • Service card
  • Technical reports from the country of origin
  • ITP history and previous inspections

Final testing under real-life conditions

Before going on sale, each car is tested in real traffic conditions to observe its dynamic behavior. Any suspicious noises, vibrations or unusual reactions are investigated before the car arrives in the showroom. For any car on the lot, you can request a free test drive by filling out the contact form here.
