Also in September 2022 was the official presentation of the fourth electric model produced by Volkswagen, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, built on the MEB platform. Derived/inspired from the Transporter, ID. Buzz aims to bring back the overall feel/spirit of the 60s and 70s, years when the world was recovering from the World War, the Cold War was at the doorstep and people wanted quiet. The fashion of the time was totally different, with libertarian ideas infiltrating the lives of many young people. Some would say it was in the minivan segment, others say it was by far in the minivan segment. Neither are wrong. Each is right. Let’s see what this superb model has to show us! Volkswagen ID. Buzz is produced in Hanover and can come in two variants: Bus (5 seats) and Cargo. The currently available engine version is the one with an electric motor, with a battery capacity of 77 kW, capable of developing 204 hp and 310 Nm. The manufacturer claims a range of up to 420 km in ideal conditions. Full charging time from an AC (alternating current) socket takes about 7 and a half hours at a maximum charging power of 11 kW. When charging from a DC (fast charging) socket, the time is reduced to just half an hour (maximum charging power: 170 kW; 5-80% charge). It is an easy to handle, agile vehicle. These advantages are due to the position of the battery, which is integrated in the floor, as well as to the electric propulsion system, which has a low weight, so that the center of gravity is located quite low. On the outside, we can say that the ID. Buzz is gorgeous. Inspired by the lines of the ’60s-’70s model, restyled to modern standards, there’s nowhere it can’t go unnoticed, especially when you can choose to color the body in two different shades. Let’s talk about the interior: there are many places where hard plastics dominate the interior. It’s only on the upper surface that we find softer, softer, better quality plastics. The standard upholstery is made from 100% recyclable materials. As a minivan, storage space is quite generous. There’s about 1100 liters in the trunk and about 2250 liters if you want to fold the seats (40:60 folding rear seats). The Cargo variant is even more generous, easily reaching up to 3900 liters. Both the Bus and Cargo variants come with vertically opening rear tailgate and sliding side doors. Volkswagen offers a diverse range of optional extras, such as a 12″ dashboard screen (10″ as standard), Matrix LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated and massaging seats, electrically operated side doors, Keyless Entry, Keyless Go, up to 21″ wheels and more. In Romania, prices start from €53,000 including VAT for the ID. Buzz Cargo and 57.900 Euro VAT included for the ID. Buzz Bus.
If we also take into account the bonuses of the Rabla Plus program, we see that the price becomes very advantageous, receiving in exchange a car specific to the 21st century, with modern lines and a wide range of accessories and equipment.
